THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO CAME TO OUR SAVE EMA RALLY!  WE HAD AN AMAZING DAY.  YOU GUYS WERE ON RADIO WM, CENTRAL NEWS, BBC MIDLANDS TODAY, CHANNEL 4 NEWS, NEWSNIGHT AS WELL AS BEING IN THE EXPRESS AND STAR AND BIRMINGHAM MAIL!
TELL US WHAT YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK WE SHOULD PLAN TO DO NEXT TO SAVE EMA - LOG INTO THE ‘YOUR UNION’ CLUB IN THE CLUBS SECTION AND GET POSTING AWAY….

Can all class reps please attend the Student Council meeting being held on Monday 6th Dec in the Main Hall, Broadway site @10.30am.
All class reps are invited to attend.
Make sure that you have your say about what the Students’ Union can do for you, get all the latest campaign information, be updated about upcoming events, and discuss issues that matter to you.

The CM meeting for A’ LEVELS will now be held on THURSDAY 25TH NOV in the Academy at 11.15

The office will be shut over half term as we have a really busy week planned.  Sun 24th & Mon 25th we are in Liverpool for the NUS Society & Citizenship conference; Tues 26th we have a union trip to Alton Towers; Wed 27th-Thurs 28th we are in Liverpool for the NUS Welfare conference; Thurs 28th - Fri 29th we are in Liverpool for the NUS FE conference and Sun 31st Oct we have the union trip to Drayton Manor!

We have been very busy over the past two weeks with enrolment and inductions.  We have visited almost every college department to say hello to you (if you have not seen us yet don’t worry we still have another three days of visiting to go)...putting final touches to Freshers Fayre, make sure that you are there on Thursday 16th September!

It’s great to see so many students coming back to the college and lots of new students.  Make sure you come and say hi to us - we have a stand in the Glass House.

We hope to see you enroling at the College over the next few days…we will be in the main reception so make sure you come over and say hello!

Are you coming back to college to do your second or third year? 
If you have text books from your first year which you no longer need why not sell them to a first year.  Contact the Students’ Union on 01384 36 3412 or drop into the office to find out how.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STUDENTS’ UNION OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN WED 11TH AUGUST AND WED 18TH AUGUST.
IT WILL RE-OPEN ON THURSDAY 19TH AUGUST AT 9AM.

Busy rewriting the Students’ Union constitution and finalising fantastic guests for Freshers Fayre!

Well today we have been looking after a cat after someone decided to dump him at the college!  We are thinking of calling him DC and petitioning to get him declared the college cat!  Oh, and we went to risk assessment training…seems like someone needs to wash up before we become a health hazard!

WOW! We have received 7 nominations forms for the President post!  Full list of candidates will be posted here tomorrow.

The elections for the next President run 17th - 26th May.  Make sure that you vote!
