Gabrielius Sliazas Well i did enjoy TRIALS HD on xbox, ok ill try it out in game society this thursday (21 st). would be more fun if there would be more xbox 360 consoles to play it on.

Test Drive Unlimited 2, I think its a 1 player game only,(correct me if im wrong). still dont know about that game (if its suitable).

COD 7 would be great to play, but yeah we need more consoles.

Just because it’s released on XBLA doesn’t immediately make it unsuitable for a tournament. It’s a race to the finish line, there are just a lot of obstacles in the way. Give players a few turns to get to the finish line with the fewest faults and best time and you have yourself a competition. Test Drive Unlimited 2 isn’t going to be released until early 2011.

And if it’s a competition what’s to say someone won’t do something unfair to win, like joining an inexperienced-player tournament?

Call of Duty is most fun when it has more players, at the minute you only have one of each console and you can’t do cross-platform multiplaying with them. I don’t think CoD, or any shooter games, will be possible until there are more consoles in the society.

COD:Black Ops thats a good suggestion, dont really know if its going to be easy to get the game (when it comes out), becouse its really popular. Smurfing shouldent be a problem, becouse i think experianced players will want a challenge.
and about test drive unlimited, really dont have any comments about that. First of all is it out yet?

Alex Simpson That’s a good idea, it allows new players to have fun playing against other new players without experienced players wiping the floor with them. However, we need a way to stop smurfing (experienced players joining a noob game and kicking their arses).

Also Trials HD/Trials 2 SE tournaments would be easy to set up and fun, just give a player 3 chances to do a run and the next player has 3 tries to beat it.

Gabrielius Sliazas yeah you are probibly right, but we could have a turnament for new players and for experianced players so that it would be fair, so that means two turnaments for 1 game and thats just more fun.

Alex Simpson I do disagree with Mario Kart, Halo 3 and Halo Reach tournaments because they would exclude people who don't own the consoles, such as me. I play FPS games a lot but I don't know the first thing about Halo 3, so people who know the maps and where the power weapons spawn will have an advantage over me. At least I have the option to play PES/FIFA if I want to instead of not being able to play because I haven't got any experience on the game because it's console-exclusive, right?

Natasha Millward Gamers will get a small budget from the Students' Union for the year - you will be able to buy some games and/or controllers. The budget will be set after half term. Carry on posting what you think the Gamers society should consider buying and ideas for tournament etc.
We are looking for members to volunteer to become part of the gamers committee. You would need to be able to attend a meeting approx once per term to review opening hours/consoles/games/tournaments etc If you would be interested in becoming part of the committee please post on here.

Gabrielius Sliazas if you guys want a FIFA (any fifa turnament), you will need to provide the game. Also Halo turnament is a problem becouse not enought xbox 360 gamming controllers and also we need that game to be provided by you guys.

Gabrielius Sliazas Mario Turnament is a very good idea. The only thing is that we need the game to be provided.

Also Guitar Hero 3 & Tekken 6 Ideas is also really great. We will definetly consider that.

Alex Simpson Since there's only one of each console and, even though it's a gamer's society there's no PCs (seriously, what the hell?) I vote for Guitar Hero 3, because it's the best in the series, PES 2011, Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 6 and SSF4.
