To raise funds for Independent Age through various fundraising initiatives including; Dinners/Balls, Sponsored Events, Coffee Mornings, Lectures etc
The organisation:
Independent Age helps older people to live with independence and dignity in their later years. Our practical support enables them to stay in their own homes for as long as possible and to lead active and fulfilled lives.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to lead a team of volunteers towards achieving a given objective
Ability to work independently but know when to seek advice
Have an understanding of best practice in fundraising

RETAIL ASSISTANT
Duties:
To assist and serve customers, providing a service of the highest standard
To assist in stock processing, including sorting, steaming, pricing and hanging of donated goods
To be involved in cash handling and till operation
To increase revenue through add-on sales at the till
To assist the manager in ensuring stock and cash security
To assist in keeping the shop premises clean and tidy
To assist and develop the voluntary team
To promote public understanding of the work of the PDSA and the importance of raising funds through the shop
To partake in the Society's bag check programme and fully adhere to all aspects of the loss prevention policy
To promote and apply the PDSA health & safety policy
