College – Live @ EDU

This year we are piloting a brand new service from Microsoft called Live@Edu. This service gives all students access to the following:

* A Dudley College e-mail account with 10GB inbox.

* 25GB of password protected online storage (SkyDrive) for you to store your work and files.

* Online versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for you to use for free.

* A range of other communication tools and useful services Every student is given a Live@Edu account for free and you can access it from anywhere.

Your e-mail address is made up of your name and the last 4 digits of your person code and this is your username for all of the above services. Your password to access these services is your date of birth as an 8 digit number.

For example, Neil Thomas (person code: 345678) born on 7th March 1983, would have the following details:

* Username: neilthomas5678@dudleylearners.ac.uk

* Password: 07031983

To change your password, after you have logged in for the first time, click on Options Image, which is located in the top right corner of the screen. On the next page you are given some shortcuts, one of which is "Change your password"...see screenshot below

Once you have clicked this, a pop up window will open which gives you the option to change your password, simply find the word password, and click on the word Change opposite, then put in your old password, input your new password, and confirm it by typing it again, and clicking Save. Your password has now been changed.

NOTE:

1. Your Live@Edu login password is not linked to your network password and can be changed independently.

2. We are piloting Live@Edu this academic year to see if we will adopt it long term. Therefore it is important that you take a copy of any files or e-mails you have saved before the end of the academic year as they may not be available next year.
