How Torefer to a counsellor

About and how to access the Counselling service at Dudley College

From time to time, we all have difficulties that are hard to cope with. Often we can resolve these ourselves or with the help of family and friends, but if we’re away from our family or our problems are about our family, it’s often hard to know where to turn for help. Sometimes, however, it can be helpful to talk matters through with someone who is outside of the situation who will listen with understanding and objectivity

If you need to see a Counsellor

You can go to the Counselling Room - B11a, Broadway Campus. There you can book yourself an appointment on the sheet outside the door. Alternatively, you can see the Counselling Co-ordinator who will make an appointment for you.

The college offers an appointment system but it may sometimes be possible to see a counsellor straight away or later the same day. Appointments can be made by telephone if you prefer: ring Dorothy Louden on 01384 363293.

Anything you tell the Counsellor will be treated in strict confidence. There is a confidentiality policy and this will be discussed with you at your first counselling session.
