YOU SAID…that you were fed up with poor or no ‘social’ seating areas


WE DID:
We raised this with the Director for Estates
We put forward a proposal to create new seating areas
We presented this proposal to the Principal and the Corporation
We secured over £30,000 for the estates team to create new seating areas at Castle View, Mons Hill and the Broadway campuses
YOU SAID… that you did not like the food in the college canteen and that it was too expensive


WE DID:
We spoke to the principal and Director for Finance
We invited the local and regional managers from ABM canteen services to our Student Council meeting
We helped to set up regualr ‘college canteen’ meetings which allowed students to speak directly the the managers of the canteen to make changes to the service
We sat on the panel to choose which company should win the contract for the next three years.
The college have now agreed a contract with a new company and they will be running a new and imporoved canteen service ffrom September 2010. It is important that we continue to monitor the standards and cost of the food and drinks on sale via the canteen therefore we will continue to attend a termly meeting with the College Director of Finance and the new managers of the canteen in order to raise any issues you have.
